My wife came home from work with a flat tire...It was in the upper 90's, a very hot day, but it had to be changed. And, since this would be my first maintenance on the new car...I figured I'd record it.

Do you really save money by buying gas @ $4.15 vs. $4.19

At first thought, paying $4.15 vs $4.19 a gallon for gas sounds like the best deal...But, how much further do you have to drive to get that price? And, since the price may be the lowest in that area...will the station be crowded, causing you to wait in line (most likely while your engine is running)?

So, let's say your car needs 10 gallons to fill up. If you decide to drive to the other station for the better deal, you save 4 cents per gallon...totaling a whopping 40 cents savings. Hmmm, is it really worth it?

I'd say no...but, that's me. Your thoughts?

Funny and Sad...Geek Action Figures

I came across these action figures today and just thought it was so funny to think of "Leonardo DaVinci", "Albert Einstein", and "Benjamin Franklin" as Action Figures. Then, I also thought it was sad that I thought it was funny -- Because these guys were actual men of ACTION, and they should really be someone kids should look up to.

But, reality will most likely prove that modern fantasy heroes, like Spiderman and Batman etc., will be the action figures that our kids desire to have in their toy box.

The 2008 Presidential Election

Does anyone else think it's sad...that in this day and age we're considering it a momentous event that a black man or a woman may actually become president. Come on how racist and sexist are we still???

Two qualified people are running for president -- One happens to be a black man and the other is a white woman...Oooo, heaven forbid that someday a black woman applies for the job. I think it's time we stop making a big deal out of things like this and remember we're all brother's and sister's in the same earth family...We're all capable of doing whatever we want, no matter our color, race or sex.

The new meaning of LB

Everyone knows what LB's are right? Weight in pounds..10 lb, 20 lb etc.

I've been noticing that the modern teenager is exhibiting the "new" meaning of LB...which I call the "Latte Belly". I think popular trendy drinks, like what Starbucks made out of the Latte, have increased the size of many of our American teenagers. High schools are even selling lattes in their cafeterias these days (I saw some news report recently about a high school selling them for one of there fund raisers)...what the heck is that all about?

I've been calling these kids LB's for a couple weeks...and tonight I realized the double meaning of Latte Belly & the pounds symbol "lb". Kindof sad and funny all at the same time -- but, mostly sad :(

I did my best to get in as many votes as I could for David Cook...but, I guess we'll see tonight who has the largest fan base.

I could see myself buying a David Cook CD...I can't see myself buying anything from the other David -- ick. Sorry, just not my type of muzak.

I can't even believe she's lasted this long. She's got no tone or soul...Don't get me wrong...she has potential, but she really thinks she's way better than she is. Let her practice some more and come back next season.

Did you notice Obama's TV ad change...

from "Barack Obama. President" to "Barack Obama. For President"? It's that ad he runs with the hip\cool music and his voice is overlayed in a very motivating and even inspiring tone.

I remember being shocked the first time I saw it because it didn't say "for" President...he was basically calling himself President -- pretty sneaky \ presumptuous I think.

Someone corrected him though...or slapped his wrist...because the same ad now say "for President"

If I can find a copy of the ad I'll post it.
